Managing General Underwriters
Located in Bedford, Texas, this position is with the nation’s number one largest, pure fronted insurance program manager. As an autonomous division of a publicly traded insurance A rated insurance holding company, we manage numerous programs through a network of Managing General Underwriters and Managing General Agents along with multiple reinsurers.
This position will involve management of a group of managing general underwriter relationships all of which are assigned contractual underwriting guidelines and use fronted insurance products.
Responsibilities will focus on:
- Review assigned client (MGU/MGA) status, active program usage, and promote business opportunities
- Visit MGU/MGA clients when appropriate and travel permits
- Review client audits and coordinate with brokers, reinsurers and others
- Discuss outstanding audit findings with client managing general underwriters/agents
- Review audit findings with clients and take appropriate action to correct outstanding findings
- Provide oversight and direction to external vendors such as underwriting auditors, consultants, claim auditors, TPAs when involving designated client accounts
- Ensure trust accounts or reserve accounts are maintained in accordance with client agreements and contracts
- Attend meetings with other program client group directors and senior executive management
- Assess or solicit new business opportunities with assigned MGU/MGA clients
Minimum Requirements:
- Masters in business, finance or similar strongly preferred
- 5 years of property and casualty insurance industry experience in either marketing, client management, territory management or similar midlevel role
